Welcome

We are honored to have your sons and daughters at Williams.

Each year we look forward with great anticipation to the arrival of our new students and to the contribution they will make to campus life. We expect you will enjoy as much as we do their excitement and growth as they explore college life.

Because there are important differences between high school and college — for students and for parents — we have tried here to anticipate some of your questions about the college and its opportunities, and students and their responsibilities. If you can't find the answer to your questions here or on the Parents web site, please call us. We have included telephone numbers here if you have additional questions.

To help you keep up on campus news, you will receive the Williams Alumni Review four times a year and you can subscribe to The Williams Record, the student newspaper, which provides a spirited documentation of campus life.

Parents of First-Year students will receive an invitation to the Class of 2012 Family Days, scheduled Friday-Sunday, Oct. 24-26, 2008. This event is designed to provide you and members of your family with an overview of campus life.

The college also hosts an informal weekend in the spring to give families of students of all classes a special time to be with their student and to meet other parents. This year's spring occasion is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, 2009.

Parents are an important part of the Williams College community. We welcome you and anticipate that this is only the beginning of a long association with Williams. We hope it will be a rich and memorable experience.
