Unpaid Leave for Support Staff
Employees who may need to be away from work for a short period of time (not less than one week) and who do not have vacation or personal leave may request a leave of absence without pay. The request is to be submitted in writing to the supervisor and department head with a copy sent to Human Resources. Decisions will be made by Human Resources in conjunction with the department head. Pay and benefits will be adjusted accordingly during the leave.
From time to time employees may wish to request unpaid leave of less than one week. All vacation and personal leave must be used prior to granting unpaid leave. Requests must be made and approved by the supervisor in advance.
