Employment of Family Members
The College permits employment of members of the same family. However, to ensure objectivity and impartiality in employment-related situations (evaluation, hiring, salary setting) employment of immediate family members in a direct reporting relationship is not permitted. Immediate family members are defined as parents, children, spouses or partners, and siblings.
Summer Employment
Each summer the College has a limited number of on-campus summer jobs in various departments. Jobs are advertised and/or posted during the spring semester. Preference is given to Williams students and children of College faculty and staff.
Children must be at least seventeen years of age in order to work. Working papers are required for those under eighteen and can be obtained at the local high schools. Upon graduation from undergraduate school or reaching age twenty-two, eligibility for summer employment at the College ends.
