Research Technician, Biology Department
Applications are invited for a part-time, (20 hours per week) grant funded, Research Technician position in the Biology Department. The research project involves investigating genomics (metagenomics) and gene expression of ocean microbial communities, and characterizing the molecular mechanisms by which ecologically important, marine microorganisms respond and acclimate to environmental stress. The Research Technician will perform research in the area of plant-microbial physiology/biochemistry/genomics, maintain and organize the laboratory, and have the opportunity to work with a dynamic group of undergraduate research students.
Candidates should have a bachelor's (BA or BS) degree in biology or chemistry, with an advanced degree and/or some experience in cell/molecular biology or biochemistry preferred. Excellent organizational skills, experience with computers, and the ability to work effectively with the College community are required. This is a one-year term with the possibility of renewal.
