Absent: Cosmo Catalano, Adriana Cozzolino, Joe Moran
Old Business:
- CPR course offering: it was decided that there would likely be insufficient interest in a summer course, so a course will be offered in the fall, sign-up likely to coincide with the Wellness Fair.
- Sit Safe, etc. programs: the Library will connect with other departments for Sit Safe and fire exit training with Matt Boyer, date to be determined.
New Business:
Accident Reports submitted to the committee this month:
- Though there were accidents during the past month, due to Joe's absence from the meeting, we had no reports to discuss. They will be reviewed at our next meeting.
Additional New Business:
- There will be a general safety refresher for B&G trades and grounds crews this spring. Other departments which would like a similar refresher should contact Joe.
- Judi expressed concern about speeding cars on Chapin drive, suggested a speed limit sign. Bob commented that the issue was moot for now because the road will be torn up over the summer.
- Concern was expressed over the poor condition of the walk from the parking garage to Greylock making it a possible tripping hazard.
- Kim reported that someone from Mears suggested designated parking in the garage. Bob commented that during construction of the Sciences, the crews parked at General Cable and were bused to the site. Cheryl said she would pass this on to Joe.
Dining Services Safety Committee:
Next meeting: Tuesday, June 15, noon at The Faculty House.
