The Many Features of the Williams Webmail Client
Many functions are available from the Williams Webmail client, not just the ability to check your email (although it does that very well).
To access the web client, use the address: Webmail The old webmail (IMP) interface found at imp.williams.edu is going away in January of 2009.
When logging in to Webmail you will notice the option for Full Version or Light Version. You should choose Full Version unless you are on a slow network connection in which case the Light Version will be preferable due to the simpler interface.
After logging in to the client, set up your options. Click the Options link in the upper right corner. Make sure to click the Apply link after making any changes
Basic functions affecting mail used in the Webmail client.
From name: General - Personal
Time zone: General - Personal
Color and Theme: General - Color Theme
Message display (messages per page, sort order): Mail - Settings
Message reply (whether replied messages are sent as an attachment (the default) or inline (as text below your reply, which is the more common method): Mail - Composing
Email Signature: Mail - Signature
Webmail Contacts (address book): To quickly add a sender's email to the Contacts, double-click the message so it opens in a new window. Next to the sender's address at the top will be a small arrow. Click that and add.
Advanced functions affecting all your email, regardless of the client (Outlook, Outlook Express, OS X Mail).
Absence Mail: An automated reply can be set up.
Forwarding: You can forward your email
Searching: The Search function in Webmail is powerful and fast
Filters: You can automatically pre-process your mail (filters and rules)
Shared Folders: You can share folders with others or read message in folders that others have shared with you
