How to use Toast to Burn a CD or DVD
Roxio Toast Titanium is used on Mac computers for CD/DVD burning. For example, users can use Toast to burn copies of iMovie, iTunes, and iPhoto projects. Once you have logged in click on the "Utilities" tab located on the left-hand side of the screen. Select Toast Titanium 5.2.

Creating a Data CD
- To create a data CD, click on the "Data" icon located on the top menu bar. Make sure that you select "Mac OS and PC (Hybrid) CD". This option will allow you to open your files from both Mac and PC systems.
- You can either drag and drop your files into the indicated area, or you can click on the "Add" sign at bottom toolbar to browse for documents.
- Once finished, make sure that you have inserted a blank CD into the recorder and click "Record." The settings that are presented should be OK.
Creating an Audio CD
- To create an audio CD, click on the "Audio" icon located on the top menu bar.
- If you are recording from another CD, insert the original CD into the drive first. Drag the icon of the music CD from your desktop to the Toast window. You can also add files from other locations by clicking on the "Add" sign at the bottom toolbar to browse for music tracks.
- Once finished, insert the blank CD into the recorder and click "Record." The settings that are presented should be OK.
Making a Copy of an Existing CD
- To make a copy of a CD, click on the "Copy" icon.
- Insert the original CD that you would like to make a copy of.
- Hit the "Record" button.
- You will then be prompted to insert a blank CD.
- Hit the "Record" button again.
Making a Video CD: From Quicktime and MPEG-1 Streams
- Click the "Other" icon located on the top menu bar and hold down the mouse button.
- Select "Video CD"
- You can either drag QuickTime files to the window or browse for them by using the "Select button."
- You will then be prompted to save your files.
- Inset a blank CD into the recorder and click the "Record" button.
Making a Video CD: From iMovie
- Choose "Export Movie" from the iMovie File menu.
- Then select "Export to: Quicktime."
- Select "Toast Video CD (NTSC)" and click "Export".
- Choose a location for saving your file.
- Toast will then automatically open, preparing your file for the recording process.
Making an MP3 disc
- Click the "Other" icon located on the top menu bar and hold down the mouse button.
- Select "MP3 Disc" from the pop-up menu.
- Drag the MP3 files onto the window. You can also select the "Add" button and browse for you files.
- Insert a blank CD into the drive
- Click the "Record" button and select "Write Disc."
- When recording is complete, eject the CD.
Making a DVD-Video disc
- Click the "Other" icon located on the top menu bar and hold down the mouse button.
- Select "DVD" from the pop-up menu.
- Click the "New DVD" button.
- Drag the "Video_TS" folder to the window and save.
- Insert a blank recordable disk into the drive and click the "Record" button.
Recording back-ups in DVD format
- Click the "Other" icon located on the top menu bar and hold down the mouse
button.
- Select "DVD" from the pop-up menu.
- Click the "New DVD" button.
- Drag the data files and folders that you want to burn, into the window.
- Insert a blank CD and click "Record".
