Mac OS X:

1. Open MS Word and select File then Print.

2. Select the previously set up Konica copier-printer from the Printer: field drop down menu.

3. Select the Security option from the drop down list in the field just below the Presets: field.  Most likely the field will currently say Copies & Pages.

4. On the Security page, check the box next to Account Track and then type your account name in the Department Name: field and your password in the Password: field.  If you don't know your account name and password you should be able to get them from your departments Administrative Assistant.

5. Select Save As... from the Presets: drop down menu and type a preset name in the Save Preset As: field then click OK.  I would name it something like Konica Printing.

This completes the authentication setup.

When you want to print to the Konica, select the Konica copier-printer as your printer.  Next change the Preset: to the name you created in step five above.  You can pick it from the drop down list of the Presets: field.  Then click Print.

Windows XP:

1. In the Windows Control Panel select Printers and Faxes.

2. Right click on the previously set up Konica copier-printer from the list of printers and select Printing Preferences....

3. Select the Setup tab and then the User Authentication/Account Track... button near the lower right corner of the window.

4. Put a check in the Account Track box and then type your account name in the Department Name field and your password in the Password field.   Next click OK and OK.  If you don't know your account name and password you should be able to get them from your departments Administrative Assistant.

5. Close out of the Printers and Faxes window.

This completes the authentication setup and you will be able to print to the Konica now.

Windows Vista:

1. In the Windows Control Panel select Printers.

2. Right click on the previously set up Konica copier-printer from the list of printers and select Properties.

3. Select the Configure tab and then verify that the Paper Source Unit is set to LCT and that the Account Track is set to Enable under Device Option.  If not, highlight each option and set them accordingly using the drop down list under Setting.  Next click Apply.

4. Select the Advanced tab and then click the Printing Defaults... button.

5. Select the Basic tab and then the Authentication/Account Track... button.

6. Under Account Track type your account name in the Department Name field and your password in the Password field.   Next click OK, OK and OK.  If you don't know your account name and password you should be able to get them from your departments Administrative Assistant.

7. Close out of the Printers window.

This completes the authentication setup and you will be able to print to the Konica now.
