Recovering Deleted Mail Using the Mirapoint Web Client.

Mail that you have deleted by mistake can be recovered for a short period of time (approximately two weeks). How far back you can go is dependant on how much disk space your particular deleted messages are taking up. To recover these messages:

  • Log in to the webmail client at http://webmail.williams.edu
  • Your folder list appears on the left, at the very bottom is Shared Folders
  • Select Shared Folders (don't click the plus to the left)
  • In the right window you will see a list of folders

If you are recovering messages deleted from your inbox:

  • Put a check in the box next to the one that says deletedmessages.user.username
  • Now in the folder list below Shared Folders you will see Deleted Messages / User / username
  • Select your username and you will see recently deleted messages on the right
  • To recover any of these messages, drag them back to your Inbox on the left where they will be visible in webmail or any other email client

If you deleted an entire mail folder:

  • Put a check in the box next to the one that says deletedmessages.user.username.mail-folder-you-deleted
  • Now in the folder list below Shared Folders you will see Deleted Messages / User / username / mail-folder-you-deleted
  • Select the deleted mail folder and you will see the contents on the right
  • To recover any of these messages, first make a new folder in your list by selecting new: folder from the menu next to delete. You can name it the same as the folder you deleted.
  • Drag the messages back to the new folder on the left where they will be visible in webmail or any other email client
