Overview

Blackboard allows users to export course content, and Glow can import content from a Blackboard export. Once the content is imported into Glow, you will have to place it into your course manually. Follow this link for a printable version of this guide

To export from Blackboard:
  1. Select Export Course under Course Options.
  2. Check the box next to each content area you want to export, then click the submit button.
NOTE: You cannot export discussion boards.
NOTE, two: For quizzes, use the Export option under Test Manager.
  3. Blackboard will notify you by email when it has finished preparing the export.
  4. On the Export Course page, right-click (mac: option-click) on the link called "Click here to download the generated package [zip] file" and select save link as.
NOTE: Do NOT rename the zip file; otherwise, Glow import will not work.
  5. Remember where you save the downloaded zip file as you will need it to import to Glow.
To import to Glow:
  1. In the Administration block select Restore
  2. Select and upload the zip file that you exported from Blackboard.
  3. Once the upload has completed and you see your file in the Glow file list, under Action select BB Import.
  4. You will now see the content from your old Blackboard course in the file list in Glow. You will need to link this content into the appropriate places in your course. For information on doing this, see the page on linking documents.
